In this day and age, it’s important to stay safe and secure on the internet. You run the risk of identity theft and fraud if you don’t. What can you do? Well, I’ve found that there are a number of web sites with tips on how to stay safe.

The first thing you should do is use a password manager. I recommend LastPass, but there are others out there, too. It will generate strong passwords for you, so you don’t have to remember them, and then store them securely in an encrypted database. It will also automatically fill in forms for you. Finally, it will tell you if your password has been compromised in a breach, so you can change it.

Second, avoid using public wifi unless it’s protected by a VPN (virtual private network). A VPN creates an encrypted tunnel between your computer and the site you’re visiting so that no one can snoop on what’s going through it. Being able to access free wifi at coffee shops and other locations is convenient, but comes with risks.

Finally, learn about phishing attacks. Don’t click on links in emails from people you don’t know or from people who are trying to get you to enter personal information into websites that don’t look legitimate.

What is the best way to stay safe on the internet?

With over half of the world’s population now online, it is more important than ever that you make sure you are staying secure and safe on the internet. I have been working in cyber security for over 15 years and this blog will be updated regularly with tips to keep your online presence as safe as possible. It will include practical advice, articles and reviews.

This blog is run by MIT graduate Kevin Mitnick. He was recently named “World’s Most Famous Hacker” by CNN and has written three books on hacking.

There are some great tools you can use to keep your sensitive information safe from prying eyes. We’ve compiled a list of the apps and software that we use to make sure we’re staying secure on the internet.

1Password: This is the password manager I started using in 2014 and haven’t looked back since. 1Password allows you to create a single password to access all of the passwords for each of your accounts, which eliminates the need to remember dozens of different passwords.

Ghostery: Ghostery is a browser plugin that blocks trackers on websites you visit. A tracker is a small piece of code that companies place on web pages to monitor your activity. Trackers can slow down your browser, collect data about you and serve annoying ads based on things you’ve looked at online. Ghostery runs quietly in the background and blocks all known trackers without any effort on your part.

AdBlock Plus: If you don’t want to see advertisements online, AdBlock Plus is a great tool for blocking pop-up ads and banners from appearing when browsing the web. You can even set it up so that sites with non-intrusive advertising aren’t affected by AdBlock Plus if you so choose.

HTTPS Everywhere: HTTPS Everywhere is a browser extension created

The internet can be a scary place, and while it offers an abundance of opportunities to learn, have fun, and stay in touch with friends and family, there are also some risks.

Fortunately, there are things you can do to make the time you spend on the internet safe and secure. To help you get started, here are some tips for staying safe on the internet.

1. Keep your computers up-to-date with the latest software updates.

2. Install anti-virus software on every computer and device connected to the internet.

3. Do not open email attachments unless you know who sent it and what’s inside it.

4. Make sure that your wireless router is secure so people can’t gain access to your network from outside your home or office building.

The Internet can be a dangerous place. There are hackers and scammers everywhere, always looking to steal your password, install viruses on your computer or rip you off. If you aren’t careful, you could get hacked.

That’s why it’s important to stay safe while using the Internet. By following these simple tips, you can ensure that your computer and personal information remain secure from criminals.

1. Use strong passwords

A strong password should be at least 10 characters long and include numbers, symbols and capital letters. The longer the better! Also, avoid using common words or phrases in the English language. You should also always use different passwords for every site and service you use online.

2. Always log out of accounts when you’re finished

When you finish checking your email or logging into Facebook, make sure to log out of your account before closing the browser window or leaving the computer unattended. This ensures that no one else will be able to access your account if they use the same computer after you.

3. Beware of suspicious emails

If an email seems too good to be true (for example: someone offering you money) it probably is a scam! Never click on any links in emails unless you are sure they are legitimate; some

Avoid common passwords such as password, 12345678, qwertyuiop, abc123, monkey or your name.

Use unique passwords for each account

Don’t use the same password for everything. If your Facebook login is compromised then that hacker now knows your email address, and if you use the same password for everything they can easily log into other accounts such as your bank account.

Use a password manager

Password managers are software programs designed to help you store complex passwords securely and access them easily. They also generate secure passwords of a specified length and type.
