Best Tech Gifts of 2014

1. Apple iPhone 6 Plus: The new iPhone 6 Plus has a larger screen than other iPhones and is basically like having an iPad Mini in your pocket. And it’s not just for taking photos; the screen is also great for watching videos and playing games on-the-go. It also has NFC (near field communication) technology so you can use it with Apple Pay to make mobile payments at stores that accept it.

2. Google Nexus 9: If you’re not an Apple fan, then consider giving a Google Nexus 9 tablet (made by HTC). It has an 8.9-inch display and runs Android

If you’re like me, you love buying gifts for your friends and family. While the best gifts are often simple, thoughtful items that don’t break the bank, it’s always a good feeling to find something that is both useful and technologically advanced.

1. Fitbit Flex: The Fitbit offers a great way to keep track of your steps, calories burned, sleep quality, and more. It syncs with your smartphone and has an easy-to-use app that lets you see all of your progress throughout the day.

2. Amazon Fire TV: Want to watch Netflix? Or maybe some HBO Go? This device will let you do just that. It also has some great games available for purchase too!

3. GoPro Hero4: The latest from GoPro is the most impressive yet. With 4K video recording at 30 fps and 1080p at 120 fps, this camera can make any activity look thrilling. I love taking it with me when I go snowboarding or mountain biking!

If you’re looking for some new tech for yourself or a loved one, here are some of our favorite devices from the past year.

Amazon Fire TV

We have been very pleased with the Fire TV. It offers good speed and performance from a small device that can easily fit behind your TV. The voice search is fantastic and works well. You can use the remote or download the app on your phone to use your finger instead of typing with the remote.

The Fire TV also supports gaming which has been a nice surprise. There are many free games available, but you can buy some pretty cool games too like Minecraft, Asphalt 8, and The Walking Dead just to name a few. We also play Flappy Birds Family on it that we got free when we bought the Fire TV. It’s pretty fun and addicting!

You can download most major apps on it as well including HBO Go, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Youtube, Plex, A&E, Crackle, Starz Play and many more!

The Fire TV is currently $99 and comes with a remote control and 30-day trial of Amazon Prime which includes access to Amazon Instant Video (similar to Netflix) as well as 2-day shipping on many items sold through Amazon. It’s definitely

The Google Chromecast is a great way to stream content from your smartphone, tablet or PC to your TV screen. It’s simple and easy to use, while also being relatively inexpensive compared to other devices with similar functionality.

Shopping for the holidays can be a stressful experience, especially if you have a lot of people to buy gifts for. If someone on your list has an interest in technology, here are a few ideas that are sure to please:

1. A wireless music streaming solution. If you’ve got someone who already has a nice stereo setup at home, they will appreciate the ability to wirelessly stream music from their phone or tablet to their stereo system. The Logitech Wireless Speaker Adapter is an affordable option that works with any stereo system and most smartphones and tablets.

2. A Wi-Fi enabled thermostat. This is an idea for that person who could use some help reducing energy costs by controlling their home’s heating and cooling more efficiently. There are several options available. For example, the Honeywell Lyric thermostat is compatible with Apple’s HomeKit system and can be controlled from an iPhone or Apple Watch as well as from Android devices using Honeywell’s Total Connect Comfort app. Also there are several models available from Nest Labs which work with Android or iOS smartphones and tablets, including the Nest Learning Thermostat (third generation) and the Nest Thermostat E, both of which support multiple heating and cooling systems including heat pumps with auxiliary

Here are a bunch of tech gadgets that are great for the tech enthusiast. Apple Watch is the best tech gadget in my opinion. It works seamlessly with other apple products and has a utility value that many other gadgets don’t have.
