Next Level of Technology at CES 2014 A blog in Vegas – The Drive2

CES 2014: A blog in Vegas – The Drive2

A look at the AutoCar Magazine show along with the coolest gadgets and cars on display.

I just got back from CES and I must say, this was quite an eye opening experience. While most of the people that attend CES are there to see the latest and greatest in gaming, home theater and personal media there are a lot of people that attend just for the cars and those were the people I was looking for. I have been to CES twice before but this is my first time attending while working as a blogger on The Drive 2.0. My goal this year was to look at cars or at least cool car related gadgets that make driving easier and more enjoyable. There are some really cool things out there if you know where to look.

There were some really cool cars on display too! It was great to see these in person after seeing them in magazines for so long. Some of my favorites were:

• Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 – This car is incredible! It is lighter than any Camaro ever made, it has a 7L engine under the hood that produces around 500 horsepower, it is one of the fastest production cars ever built and it cost less than $70

This week I am at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where I’m looking at the next generation of tech gadgets that are set to hit the market this year. As a photographer and blogger, I will be on the lookout for products that allow me to do my job more efficiently and effectively. At CES 2013, I was really excited about the Canon Rebel T5i DSLR–it’s a great camera for bloggers with its flip-out screen and touch screen controls.

I’ll be posting product reviews each night on The Drive2. This year, I’m also looking forward to seeing cars from Ford, BMW, Toyota and Nissan (among others) that have integrated with the latest technology available.

As an automotive journalist and blogger, it is important to keep up with trends in both technology and design. This show is one of my favorite places to see what is coming down the pipeline.

CES 2014 was a showcase of the future. Cars, gadgets and people all coming together in Las Vegas to see what the next level of technology looks like. One thing’s for sure, the future is bright.

CES is the largest tech show in the world with over 3,200 exhibitors and 150,000 attendees. It’s also where every single major technology company unveils their latest gadgets, gizmos and dashboards.

This year’s show featured a number of different automakers including BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota. In addition to these companies there were also several car-centric start ups hoping to make big waves at this year’s show.

One such start up was called Pearl Auto. They say they’ve created a rear vision system that will one day replace mirrors on all cars in the future. While it may seem like a bold statement to make for a company that has only been around for less than a year, this kind of innovation would certainly change our driving habits forever.

For a part of the country that’s always been known for its gambling, Sin City is filled with an unexpected amount of risk. Everyone from investors to inventors are flocking to Las Vegas for the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that opens tomorrow.

This is the place where the newest ideas in technology are launched, and many of them will never make it out of Vegas in one piece.

The CES show is not just about new gadgets and gizmos, either. On the outskirts of town, you can find another big convention taking place right now — one with a much longer history.

It’s called The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, and it attracts more than 100,000 car enthusiasts from all over the world.

In this blog I’ll show you some of the coolest cars and gadgets on display at SEMA right now before heading over to CES later in the week.

CES is one of the biggest technology shows in the world and this year, just like last year, it didn’t disappoint. The show is a showcase for all the best gadgets to come out of the technology industry over the next 12 months. The Vegas Convention Center was bigger than ever and full of tech companies with their latest releases.

AutoCar Magazine covered CES 2014, you can follow us at @autocar on Twitter or visit autocar.co.uk for more information and news from the show. There were so many products on display that it would be impossible to fit them all into one blog post, but we’ve tried our best to highlight some of the most interesting launches from CES 2014.

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is the big show of the year for tech enthusiasts. With over 150,000 attendees, 3,200 vendors and 1.9 million square feet of exhibit space, it can be a daunting experience for even the most seasoned visitor. But there are ways to make your visit more efficient and rewarding.

First, do a little homework on the vendors you want to see. The CES website has a comprehensive list along with maps and links to each vendor’s site where you can get more details about their products. If you’re interested in seeing anything specific at the show – a new TV technology or home automation system – use the website to find out which manufacturers are going to have them on display.

Next, spend some time mapping out your route through the show. There are several venues in Las Vegas that host CES exhibits, so you’ll have to figure out when and where you need to be to see what you want. You’ll also need to know how much time you’ll have for each vendor’s booth and figure out when you’ll be able to squeeze in lunch or a coffee break. If this sounds like too much work for one person, enlist a friend or family member who will enjoy helping plan the logistics of the trip.

CES is the world’s largest annual consumer technology trade show, bringing together more than 3,200 exhibitors and over 150,000 attendees from more than 140 countries.

It takes place every January in Las Vegas and showcases more than 20,000 new consumer technology products across 15 major product categories including the latest in audio, automotive electronics, connected home technologies, digital imaging/photography and more.

The International CES is produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the preeminent trade association promoting growth in the $195 billion U.S. consumer electronics industry. CEA represents more than 2,000 corporate members involved in the design, development, manufacturing and distribution of consumer electronics products. All profits from CES are reinvested into industry services, including technical training and education, industry promotion, engineering standards development, market research and legislative advocacy.
