The fact is that we have come a long way from being cavemen who lived in caves and hunted for food in order to survive.
Nowadays, we’ve got all kinds of cool gadgets and devices that make our lives easier and better. For example, you can use your cell phone to get directions, find a restaurant, and even buy something using your credit card! This kind of convenience and ease-of-use makes technology even more appealing to people.

It was a great year for new technology and inventions, and people are more excited than ever about what the future will bring. The next few decades will see some phenomenal new technologies and changes in the world. Some of these can already be seen in today’s world. I have listed a few of them here and have given some reasons to why I think they will be important.
I can only see benefits from these new technologies, unless of course we misuse them, but that is for another article!
Fusion Power: This has been talked about for years, but there are now signs that it might actually happen in the not so distant future. The main problem with fusion power is that it takes more energy to start it off than you get from it. So far this has not been possible to overcome. But there are now experiments underway that show promise and if successful will change the world forever. The best thing about fusion power is the lack of pollution and waste products, once set up it could run for many years without causing any environmental damage, unlike traditional power stations that cause global warming and acid rain etc.
Nanotechnology: This is already a reality and is used in medicine and other industries already. In the future we may use nanotechnology every day by using smart materials such as self cleaning windows or clothes that never get dirty! Nanotechnology can also help with prolonging life, by repairing
I believe that there are 5 main categories of technology that have the potential to shape the next few decades of humanity. I won’t be listing any particular technologies but rather the categories they fall into.
1. Energy: In our world energy is one of the most important resources and a lot of time has been spent in search for alternative energy sources. The most promising ones are solar power, nuclear fusion and nuclear fission. All you need to do is look at the amount of research being put into fusion to see how promising it can be. Fusion has the potential to give us an unlimited source of cheap energy with low risk of catastrophic failure (like what happened in Chernobyl).
2. Transportation: One thing that I am quite excited about are self-driving cars. They have the potential to decrease traffic accidents and make commuting more pleasant. Other things like hyperloops, flying cars and other space transportation technologies are also exciting, though flying cars are just a bit too sci-fi to me personally.
3. Artificial intelligence: AI is already changing our lives in ways we don’t even realise it yet (e.g social media algorithms). The technology is still quite far from all those movies where robots take over the world but as time goes on artificial intelligence will become
