Top 3 things to watch when buying a smartwatch

Buying a smartwatch can be confusing. There are so many different choices, it can difficult to find the right one for you. Here are 3 things to consider when choosing a smartwatch: battery life, compatibility and cost.

Smartwatches are literally “smart” watches that connect to smartphones. They allow you to do all kinds of things like read text messages or play music on your wrist instead of needing to reach into your pocket for your phone. Battery life is important because some smartwatches may only last 1 day while others can last up to 6 days before they need to be charged. Compatability is also an issue because some watches only work with Apple phones while others only work with Android phones. Cost is also important because prices can range from $150 up to $400 depending on the brand and features.

If you’re in the market for a smartwatch, there’s a lot to consider. Do you want one that is compatible with your iPhone or Android device? Do you want a watch with a built-in phone feature, or are you happy to just get alerts from your phone? Are you looking for fitness tracking, or do you just want notifications on your wrist?

The good news is: it’s all possible. The bad news is: it can be confusing figuring out which smartwatch is right for you.

Here are the top three things I recommend looking at when buying a smartwatch.

1. Compatibility

2. Battery life

3. Notifications

Looking for a smartwatch but not sure where to start? I’ve done the research and here are the top 3 things to look for when buying your next smartwatch:

1. Battery life

This is probably the most important factor to consider when looking at a new watch. Right now, most smartwatches (except for some of the Fitbit models) can last about 1 to 2 days before needing to be recharged. So make sure you keep that in mind when making your next purchase.

2. Compatibility

You’ll want to check if this particular watch will be compatible with your phone. Most manufacturers make watches that are compatible with both iOS and Android devices. However, it’s best to double-check before making a purchase.

3. Features

Lastly, you’ll want to consider what features you’re interested in having on your watch. You might not need all of the features that come with a particular watch, so take some time to decide what features are most important to you.

The three most important things to look for when looking at smartwatches are:

1. Battery life, 2. Software and 3. Screen size. These are the three things I recommend looking for when buying a smartwatch.

Battery life is very important as you don’t want your watch dying on you half way through the day. For example, the Apple Watch 2 is advertised as being able to last 2 days but in reality only lasts 1 day when being used constantly (see review). The Moto 360 is advertised as lasting a full day but in reality only lasts about half a day before needing to be charged (see review). You want something that will last for at least a full day before needing to be charged so that you don’t have to worry about it dying on you halfway through the day or worse, while you’re out and about with no way of charging it back up again quickly enough.

Software is also important because if there’s something specific that you need from your smartwatch then it might not work properly or do what you want it to do if it doesn’t have good software backing up its hardware features – this means making sure there are apps available on whatever platform your chosen device runs on (eg: Android Wear vs Tizen vs Samsung’s proprietary OS

When buying a smartwatch there are basically three things you want to look for.\

Whether the battery life is decent, if it has any kind of fitness tracker, and if it works with your phone.

For the most part all smartwatches have a decent battery life, but some are better than others. If you want to get an Android Wear watch or an Apple Watch, they both get good battery life. The Apple Watch gets you about 18 hours and the Android Wear watches get you about 24 hours. Now if you’re looking for something that lasts a bit longer, Pebble Time and Pebble Time Steel will last up to 7 days on a single charge.

If you’re looking for a fitness tracker, there are many options out there for you. The most popular smartwatch for tracking your daily activities is the Fitbit Surge which has built in GPS and can track your runs and bike rides accurately. Also the Moto 360 comes with a pedometer built in so that’s something to consider as well. Most smartwatches have some kind of fitness app built in so just make sure that it has the features that you want before purchasing one.

Lastly make sure that the smartwatch that you buy works with your smartphone. For example,

A smartwatch, is a wrist watch that connects to your phone and give you information when it’s paired with your smartphone. Smartwatches have become popular for those that feel like their cellphones are too much of an intrusion in their daily lives, but still like the convenience of being able to monitor incoming texts and email. And if you’re in the market for a smartwatch, here’s what you need to look out for:

First, design. Look at both the size of the watch face as well as its weight. Is this something that you’d want to wear every day? Is it too big? Too small? Does it fit your wrist properly? Does it feel comfortable?

Second, battery life. If a watch has too short a battery life, you might find yourself charging it every night after taking it off your wrist. Or worse yet, not getting enough use out of it before needing a charge. So be sure to check the manufacturer’s website for any stats on battery life before buying.

Third, compatibility. Most smartwatches work only with Android phones or iPhones. So if you have an iPhone and buy an Android watch or vice versa, they won’t work together. Make sure you pick a smartwatch that works with your phone or at

There are so many smartwatches on the market, but which one is the best? I did some research to find out what factors matter most when picking out a smartwatch.

The first thing to consider is the platform. The Apple Watch is great for iPhone users and it works seamlessly with other Apple products. If you use Android, you might want to consider an Android Wear watch like the Moto 360 or LG G Watch. It’s a good idea to match your smartphone operating system so that you can take advantage of all the features.

The second thing is style. There are many different styles and sizes of watches from sporty to elegant. You should pick a style that you like and that fits your lifestyle. If you’re athletic, you might opt for a sportier looking watch with rubber wristbands like the Samsung Gear S2. For something more formal, try the classic-looking Huawei Watch or LG Urbane Smartwatch.

Finally, consider your budget. Prices vary greatly between $150 and $350+. But if you’re just starting out with wearables, it’s best not to spend too much since technology changes quickly.
