A few weeks ago, my family and I drove cross-country. And we did it in a car that had only just enough room for each of our three youngest children to have their own seat.
I’ve owned a lot of cars during my life, but there’s one truth that still holds true: The more you drive it, the more you learn about a car. And we learned A LOT about this one.
We knew going into this trip that we’d be driving over 1,000 miles per day at times. And we did it. But there were some things we didn’t know about our new car until after the trip was over:
1) The trunk is way too small to fit everything we need it to fit. (And in fact, at one point on the way home we had to put some of our luggage inside the cabin of the car because there wasn’t any more room in the trunk.)
2) We couldn’t tell if the air conditioning was blowing cold air or not because by the time it reached us (we were sitting in the third row) it was just warm sunshine anyway.
