I have been working in the tech business for more than 20 years. The most significant change I’ve seen is that, after a long period of resistance, companies are beginning to adopt products from startups.
We’re at an inflection point. After years of waiting and watching, big companies are increasingly willing to buy new products from small companies. This is something we saw about 10 years ago when Google started buying startups. Now almost every company has an innovation group to create or buy new ideas and innovations.
Another big change is that we’re seeing a lot more cooperation between large enterprises and startups — both are realizing how beneficial it can be for them to work together.
The following is a top 10 list of the coolest tech products I’ve seen in the last year or so. Some are already available; some will be coming out soon. All of them have the potential to transform our lives.
As 2017 winds down, I find myself reflecting back on the products I’ve reviewed this year and trying to figure out which ones really wowed me. When you do as many reviews as we do, it can be pretty tough to stand out from the crowd but some products just did that this year.
It was a tough job, but I managed to narrow it down to 10 of my favorite products from the past 12 months. The following tech all stood out for a variety of reasons, mostly because they were able to offer something different or unique in an increasingly crowded market.
Whether it’s the latest smartphone or a flashy new laptop, it’s hard to be impressed these days with the sheer volume of products that get released every week. However, there’s a few items in this list that will have you wondering why we haven’t seen them sooner and others that are just plain fun.
Some of these gadgets will make your life easier while others will simply add a bit of pizzazz to your daily routine. Either way, they’re sure to bring a smile to your face and maybe even put you on Santa’s nice list this year.
