There were lots of memorable stories this year, and we were happy to see the widespread impact that so many of them had on our readers. We published more than 5,000 posts in 2018, and we could have listed hundreds of favorites. But here are the 10 posts that stood out as the most popular among our readers:

From AI to ethics, from chatbots to hardware, and from China to the world of data, Tech2 provided coverage of all things tech in 2018. It was a monumental year for technology. The big three firms of Silicon Valley (Amazon, Apple and Google) had a good year. While they may not have dazzled with new products and services, they did manage to grow their business considerably. Apple sold over 220 million iPhones during the year, Amazon’s cloud service was booming, and Google continued its dominance of the search engine market.
In 2018 we saw many breakthroughs in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI). This included new developments in deep reinforcement learning that allowed computers to outperform humans at complex video games with no previous training. We also learned more about how AI will impact our daily lives in the near future. Scientists are developing ways to use AI-powered robots as personal assistants, while others are working on ways to optimize healthcare delivery through automation.
The Internet of Things (IoT) market also grew substantially in 2018. Companies like Bosch and Cisco are investing heavily in IoT platforms that make it easier for companies to monitor their machinery remotely and even predict when their equipment will need maintenance or replacement parts.
