If you like technology, you’ll be glad to know that there are some exciting new gadgets coming this year. Here are three products that I think are worth checking out.

Google Glass

I have not personally tested a pair of Google Glasses yet, but I have heard many positive reviews from people who have. The glasses allow you to see a display in the corner of your eye and use voice commands to activate features. You can also take pictures with them using a simple gesture and share them online with friends.

The glasses have been described as a kind of wearable smartphone, but without the need for taking out your phone or looking down at it while walking. The main benefit is convenience; you can use the glasses anywhere while keeping your hands free.

The first model of Google Glasses was only available by invitation, but there will be a wider release in 2014. They will cost around $1,500.

Xperia Z1S Smartphone

This cool new smartphone has a 20 megapixel camera and 5 inch screen with 1080p resolution (full HD). It features an impressive array of software features including photo editing tools, sound enhancer and it can be used as a remote control for your television and other devices. The phone also comes with an app

The idea of a digital personal assistant is hardly new. In the 1990s, a Microsoft research project called Office Assistant introduced “Clippy,” an animated paperclip that would pop up in the corner of your screen and ask if you needed help with your work. The feature was widely reviled, in part because it was enabled by default and couldn’t be disabled without rooting through a series of menus.

Today, Apple’s personal assistant Siri is much smarter than Clippy ever was. It can answer questions about restaurants and weather forecasts, schedule meetings, and make phone calls. Cortana, Microsoft’s version of Siri for its Windows 10 operating system, has a similar skill set. Google Assistant is impressive but limited to the company’s Allo messaging app and Google Home speaker. And Amazon’s Alexa only works with the company’s Echo speaker.

It’s early days for these technologies, but they are already showing a lot of promise.

Technology has infiltrated every aspect of our lives today. This is the time to embrace technology and see how it can help us in our daily lives. Here are five gadgets that are sure to make your life simpler:

The Amazon Echo is an always-on, voice-activated personal assistant that uses the power of the cloud to stay up-to-date with the latest information. You can ask it questions about news, weather, sports and any other information you’re looking for. The Echo also integrates with smart home technologies such as Nest thermostats and Philips Hue light bulbs so you can control your home with just your voice…

The use of emerging technologies in the classroom is an opportunity for students to develop a host of skills, from problem solving to communication and creativity. Technology can support learning and can transform the way students interact with each other.

With that said, it’s clear that not all technology is created equal. There are some products on the market that offer little value for learning or student engagement. Similarly, there are some tools that may be great for playing games but lack educational value. Make sure you understand how your students will use any technology product you adopt.

How can we better take advantage of emerging technologies in the classroom? To help answer this question, we’ve compiled a list of five products to consider adopting in your classroom:

__________Google Expeditions

__________Samsung Gear VR

__________Sphero SPRK+

THE world is full of exciting new technologies. Some promise to speed up your Internet connection, or save you money. Others will make your life more convenient or fun.

Here is a brief look at some of the most promising technologies coming to market in the next few years:

Fiber-optic broadband is about five times faster than ordinary cable and about 100 times faster than standard DSL, allowing users to download a high-definition movie in minutes instead of hours. Verizon Communications offers it to eight million homes in parts of 13 states and plans to expand service throughout its territory. AT&T is bringing fiber connections to 3 million homes in 22 markets by summer 2008 and hopes to reach 18 million homes by 2010.

Digital video recorders are already common, but TiVo is introducing a new model, the Series3 HD DVR, that lets users record two shows simultaneously, while watching a third prerecorded show — all in high definition. The $800 box can store up to 150 hours of HD programming or 1,000 hours of standard definition programming (more if you add an external hard drive). It also has two CableCARD slots that allow it to receive digital cable without requiring a set-top box from the cable company. The device can be ordered online at www
