The internet connection is a basic necessity of every individual, and it is not limited to the use of a personal computer. With the advent of smartphones, one can do everything with his mobile phone that he can do with a computer. The best part is that you can carry your smartphone anywhere, unlike your computer.

Nowadays most of the people have access to either 4G or 3G internet services on their mobiles. Some smartphones come with an additional feature of sharing the internet connection via Ethernet cable. But what if you want to share your internet connection without using any wired connection?

So here we would discuss how you can share your smartphone’s internet connection through Bluetooth, so that you can use it in other devices such as laptop/desktop computers or tablets. For this purpose, I am going to use an Android device, but you can follow similar steps for other operating systems too.

You are at your friend’s place and they need to use the internet, but they don’t have a WiFi connection. They ask you if they could use your phone’s Hotspot feature to connect their laptop to the internet. You say sure, but then you realize that there is no Ethernet cable available around. So how do you share your phone’s internet connection via Bluetooth?

Well, believe it or not, there are ways to share your phone’s internet connection via Bluetooth. Here we have explained two methods that might help you share your phone’s internet connection via Bluetooth.

Method 1: Using an app called Join

An app called Join is available on the Play Store that uses Bluetooth to get connected with other devices. It basically works like any normal tethering app like FoxFi or PdaNet+. But instead of using WiFi hotspot or USB tethering, it uses Bluetooth for sharing the data (internet).

There are times when sharing our internet connection with other devices is of paramount importance. Most of the times, it has to be done in hurry which can cause problems if we don’t know the appropriate steps to share the connection. Sharing a mobile device’s internet connection over Bluetooth isn’t as easy as it sounds.

Here are the steps that you need to follow in order to share your smartphone’s Internet Connection over Bluetooth:

1. Open Settings on your Android device

2. Look for More option and tap on it (On some devices, you will have to click on Connections instead)

3. Tap on Tethering and Mobile hotspot

4. Tap on Bluetooth tethering

5. Turn on Bluetooth tethering by tapping the slider next to it

Have you ever been at a friend’s house, and they have no Internet connection? Or you want to share some files on your phone but don’t have a USB cable? Well, if you know how to use Bluetooth Tethering, this can be easily fixed.

What Is Bluetooth Tethering?

Bluetooth tethering is the process of sharing your phone’s mobile data connection with another device via Bluetooth. In other words, it allows you to use the internet on another device (such as a laptop) by using your phone’s mobile data. This allows you to get Internet access in areas where Wi-Fi hotspots aren’t available, such as when you are out of your house.

You can share the internet connection between two devices by either USB Tethering or Wi-Fi Hotspot. However, if the device you want to connect to doesn’t support Wi-Fi Hotspot or the device doesn’t have a working USB port (for example, a tablet), then Bluetooth tethering is the best way.

Using Bluetooth Tethering is easy. You just need to make sure that both devices are paired first before starting it up.
